Creative Communication Worker
£27,684 - £31,864 per annum
36 hours per week (18 months fixed term post)
Could you listen to and reach someone who does not use words to communicate? Could you support them to build bridges with the people and world around them? If so, read on…
Whilst we pride ourselves on our skills and understanding in supporting those with high support and communication needs, this is a new, exciting and innovative role, which will place Support for Living as a forerunner in the field of supporting with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities.
The postholder will use their skills in Intensive Interaction and creative forms of communication to support people 1:1 on a weekly sessional basis in their own homes. You will model ways of communicating and supporting people so that the staff team can observe and further develop their own skills, increasing the person’s level of involvement and control in their everyday life. It is expected that this work will contribute to research and increase understanding of people with Profound and Multiple Disabilities.
Support for Living is one of London’s largest, most dynamic, diverse and successful, not-for-profit providers of support for people with learning disabilities and people with mental health needs. We are proud of the personalised service we offer to over 500 people!
